Early Life Of Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is an internationally recognized cricket player from India. He was born in Delhi, India, on 5 November 1988. He was the third child, with and elder brother and a sister, Vikash and Bhavna. Prem Kohli, his father was a criminal lawyer in Delhi while his mother, Saroj Kohli was a housewife. Virat Kohli’s passion for cricket was evident at an early, as he started swinging a cricket bat at the age of three years, while his father would bowl at him. Kohli grew up in Uttam Nagar, where he joined school at the Vishar Bharti Public School. At a tender age of nine, Kohli became among the first students to be admitted at the newly opened West Delhi Cricket Academy (http://wdca.in/) in 1998. Following a suggestion by their neighbor that Kohli could reap more by joining a professional cricket club, his father decided to take him to the academy, where he would perfect his skill to become an international player. Under the guidance of Rajkumar Sharma at the academy, Kohli was able to undergo training and participate in matches with academies such as Sumit Dogra Academy. To further his cricket practice, Kohli shifted to the Savier Convent located in Paschim Vihar. Having come from a humble background, the player has experienced life and excelled not only as a professional sportsman but also in his academics. Virat Kohli has a height of 5ft. 9 in, (1.75 m) his batting style is right handed while he uses the right-arm medium bowling style. His colleagues nicknamed Cheeku and he plays a key role in the Indian cricket team as a batsman and a test captain for the national team.
